Arrival, Oathbringer, Games Night, Henry

Rented the movie Arrival from Redox the other week. And man, was it awesome. The only reason it's rated PG-13 is because the F-bomb is dropped exactly once near the beginning when they enter the spaceship for the first time. It's when Ian (Jeremy Renner) steps off the lift and falls into the wall/floor due to the gravity change. So if you mute those 5 seconds of the movie, you're left with a PG movie. That's my only complaint about it; everything else is awesome.

I like how they portray what our reactions would be if alien spacecraft actually landed on earth, from both the civilian and government standpoints. Plus the tension leading up to meeting the plains for the first time is superb, you really feel the nervousness of what you're doing. Anyway, I really liked it and recommend it. Plus, the twist near the ending is super cool.

Brandon Sanderson revealed the new cover for Oathbringer. Here it is:

Well, this is the cover and the spine and the back of the book. The woman displayed on the cover is (spoiler alert) Jashna, who is repairing a wall damaged in an attack on a city.

Also, some Sanderson fan made this, which I love:

It's a spoof of Where's Waldo, for those of you who are confused.

Next week is my last week of school. Then there's some meetings post-school year, and I'll try to get a summer job before starting school back up again in August. Yay.

This last weekend Michael Perazzo was in town with his wife Alicia. Jacob invited us over to spend time with one another. We inevitably played some games. I played Splendor against Michael, Alicia, and Heather and Heather won, then I played 7 Wonders Duel with Michael and won due to military. He was going for green cards and I was going for red, but he ignored red and yellow cards to his peril. I won at the beginning of the third age. Heather played Blokus with Brandon, Megan, and Alicia while I was playing Michael.

Here I hold Jacob and Susan's latest edition

I am going to end this post with pictures of Henry because Henry is cute. We got him some underwear to wear when he has a dry diaper and goes on the potty, and he loves them.

During breakfast Henry decided that his bowl was a hat. "Hat!" he said proudly.
