Canyoneering with the brothers-in-law

This last Thursday and Friday I took school off to go canyoneering with my brothers-in-law Chris and David.

Canyoneering is defined as: the sport of exploring canyons (as by climbing, rappelling, or rafting).

We did some rappelling, some wading through water, some sliding down natural water slides, some hiking, and some climbing as we had to climb out of the canyon on Friday.

We met up with two other guys, Josh and Ross, on Thursday morning. That day we did Waterslides Canyon. We had two cars and did the shuttle thing where we carpooled up so we had a car on both ends, and at the end carpooled back again to grab both cars.

We camped that night. Set up a few tents and had a campfire and everything.

The next day, Friday, we packed up our campsite and went to Parker Canyon. No shuttle-thing this time. When we were done at the end and bottom of the canyon we had to hike/climb our way back out to the top.

All in all it was really fun and I'm glad I went, even if my legs were super sore and achy at the end of it.

Time

 Henry's turning 6 tomorrow.

I am now 31 years old.

Audrey Hepburn, apparently, is not still alive, but died when I was 2. Heather and I were wondering that last night so I looked it up.

President Nelson is the prophet on earth today.

Noah was a prophet on earth a long time ago.

Did you know that on the timeline of the planet a T-Rex is closer to seeing a Miley Cyrus concert than seeing a triceritops?

And that Anne Frank and Martin Luther King Jr. were born the exact same year?

Did you know that "The Wizard of Oz" isn't actually the first color movie, just the one that kicked in the "New Era" of Hollywood? The first full length color movie was made in 1935.

The next year, 1936, Robert Downey Sr. (father of Robert Downey Jr.) was born.

Three years later in 1939 "The Wizard of Oz" is in theaters.
